Carpet Colors and Textures Entice Home Buyers
by Jeanette Joy Fisher
If you're fixing a home to sell in today's market, keep up with features home buyers expect to see in your remodel. Home buyers often look at model homes and then buy a more affordable resale home. If you want to attract these buyers, use carpet similar to what they see in the model homes staged by professional interior designers.
Designers and home owners, tired of the same old beige carpet, use colors today to create exciting spaces. Numerous textures, patterns, and colors make carpet the focal point in some interior design plans.
Instead of boring beige plush carpet, consider the "new neutrals" in textured carpet. Beige and tan colors are being replaced with soft greens, pale yellows, and shades of blue.
However, neutral carpet hasn't disappeared. Berber, still a popular choice, now comes with more texture and pattern. Bolder looks come from variation in height and sculptured effects. Dramatic visual effects in carpet enrich today's homes. Added textures, patterns, and flecks of color give interest to basic carpet backgrounds. Flecks of color are popular with the usual tan, beige, and cream backgrounds as well. Home buyers like the visual dimension and you can point out that the flecks help mask spots.
Carpet can make a huge difference in your bottom line. The new neutrals don't cost more, but the enhancement can make your home stand out and sell faster, for more money.
